SIASOft is to calculate Surgically Induced Astigmatism by “ GOLD Standard”
Vector Method for Single as well as for Multiple Patients. It also separately
Calculates the ‘ Angle of Error’ which is induced by the surgeon during any
Cataract-refractive surgery.
Surgically induced astigmatism (SIA) is not just the simple arithmetic subtraction
of K-values before and after operation. It involves the vector change ie, having a magnitude as well as direction which involves little bit of trigonometry. For every
Ophthalmologist, it is not possible to go back to 12th standard mathematical knowledge and calculate SIA. It is also difficult to perform simultaneous calculation for large number of patients, though it is mathematically possible and requires plenty of time.
On the contrary, analysis of SIA allows the surgeon to evaluate his own technique and
Also to maximize his potential for obtaining consistently good surgical outcome. It further allows the surgeon to choose the right axis, right length, right site and right nature
of incision. This is especially important while planning for correction of pre-existing corneal astigmatism during any type of cataract surgery- whether Manual SICS or phacoemulsification.
SIA-Soft can handle single as well as unlimited number of patients and surgeons with simultaneous calculation of mean and standard deviation which only requires clicking the buttons. |
