Dear AIOS Members,
Greetings from AIOS Election Commission
As part of our robust democratic tradition, online elections for AIOS office bearers will be conducted from 6:00 PM IST on February 23, 2026, to 5:59 PM IST on March 2, 2026, spanning a period of seven days.
The election / voting process shall be conducted by Online Voting only. This year we have selected NSDL for doing the E-Voting process & the reason NSDL are as follows -
NSDL (National Securities Depository Limited) e-Voting is generally considered superior to private vendors due to its regulatory standing, high-security infrastructure, and direct integration with shareholder data, which ensures accuracy and trustworthiness.
Here is why NSDL e-voting is often preferred:
1. Trusted Regulatory Status and Security
Government-Certified Security: NSDL’s e-Voting system is certified by the Standardization Testing and Quality Certification (STQC) Directorate, Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communications & IT, Government of India.
High-Level Security Practices: The platform is designed with world-class security protocols to keep sensitive corporate data secure, reducing the risk of tampering, which is a major concern with less established private vendors.
Direct Regulatory Alignment: As a central depository, NSDL operates directly under the guidance of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) and SEBI.
2. Seamless Integration and Reliability
Direct Access to Demat Data: NSDL maintains the database of demat account holders. This ensures that the record date data is accurate and directly uploaded, reducing errors in shareholder identification.
Convenience for Users: Shareholders can log in using their existing Easi/Easiest (Demat) credentials, offering a single, familiar, and secure login for multiple companies, which is often not possible with diverse private vendors.
Integration with Other Systems: NSDL offers integration with other platforms, such as allowing access through Depository Participants (DPs).
3. Comprehensive Features and Inclusivity
Physical and Demat Holders: NSDL handles both demat and physical shareholders efficiently.
Mobile Accessibility: NSDL provides the "NSDL Speede" mobile app for convenient, secure voting via mobile devices.
Virtual Meeting Support: Beyond just voting, NSDL facilitates virtual AGM/EGM, enabling live streaming of meeting proceedings.
Proxy Advisor Insights: NSDL has integrated proxy advisory recommendations directly into the system, allowing shareholders to make informed decisions.
4. Cost Efficiency for Corporates
- No Direct Fee: NSDL often does not levy any fee on the issuer (company) for using its e-voting system.
- Reduced Administrative Costs: It eliminates the costs associated with printing and posting physical ballot papers,, and manual signature verification.
- Summary Comparison
- Feature NSDL e-Voting Private Vendor
- Trust/Regulation High (Regulated by Govt/SEBI) Varies (Private firm)
- Security Certification STQC Directorate Varies
- Data Accuracy High (Direct link to DP) Varies (Requires transfer)
- User Login Single Login/Easiest Specific to Vendor

- NSDL is considered the standard for reliable, secure, and compliant electronic voting in India.
