In the aftermath of the recent outbreak of TASS, various steps were taken by the AIOS including creation of TASS Registry at our Website. Since, in years to come, there could be other adverse ocular events related to multitude of factors, a need was felt that an Ocular Adverse Events Registry should replace TASS Registry. General Guidelines for AIOS Committee:
- - The committee shall work in a time bound manner to submit their recommendations in the time frame specified, the Chairperson of the committee shall take the responsibility of submission of the recommendations.
- - The committees will work by e-mail communication. The Chairman or any other member may circulate suggestion for adoption and absence of response over a period of one week may be taken as acceptance unless otherwise specified.
- - The report shall be submitted to the President and the Secretary AIOS and necessary follow up action will follow in a specified time frame.
- - The proposals may be discussed in the mid-year meeting where possible
- - A critical analysis of the work done during the year and possible improvements in the functioning of the committee may be presented at the next AIOS meeting.

The scope of work of the Disciplinary Committee:
To take disciplinary action against any AIOS member / members who have directly / indirectly indulged in Anti-AIOS activity / activities or have directly / indirectly shamed AIOS on public platforms such as social media, facebook, you tube, twitter etc. The Committee is formed so as to take action against those member / members who have tarnished the image of AIOS or its members on national and international platforms.
The disciplinary committee can by itself (suo-motto) / any of its member / member(s) or on a written / email complaint by any member / members, can take action(s) against any offending member(s).
Initially the committee can issue show cause notice to the concerned member / members and ask for explanation for their action(s). This should be submitted within 2 weeks of the notice.
Depending on the explanation the disciplinary committee can recommend the following actions.
- - No action.
- - Written apology.
- - 1-year suspension of AIOS membership & its activities and no contest in AIOS election for 3 years.
- - 3-year suspension of AIOS membership & its activities and no contest in AIOS election for 6 years
- - Expulsion from the membership of AIOS.
